Out and about in the Kaltenbach/Hochfügen region - Pretty blown away everything
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
In Hochfügen, you can still get down into the valley without any major problems and it is also possible to ski in the forest without any problems. Overall, there is a little more than 1 meter of snow. In Kaltenbach it looks a little different, you can still get up to about 1400m.
Snow quality
Everything was pretty blown out, the wind and the foehn storm were pretty busy. At 1700m, temperatures were once again above 0 degrees. On shady slopes you could still find something similar to powder snow. The second star is just about there.
Risks
Not entirely without the last few days. The main problem is probably drift snow, but the old snow problem and the warming should not be neglected either. According to the LLB, above 2000m, level 3 below 2. We were really only out and about in flat terrain, as drift snow can hardly be avoided at the moment. A snow profile showed the weak layer close to the ground and a few layers of ice. However, the upper block only slid after a lot of force was applied.
Overall impression
Quite a nice day, had two nice runs and even the sun was there.
