Snow condition

There is still not too much snow here. Spring has already returned at lower altitudes. Downhill skiing is only possible as far as the middle station. Off-piste skiing only makes sense in the upper area. Especially on the slopes from Hochfügen you can see that there is still a lot of snow high up: there are still many bushes and mountain pines sticking out that you don't normally see. Up to about 2100 m the snow conditions are OK. There is still some fresh snow left from the night before last. But you have to be in exactly the right places for this to be fun to ride.

Two stars because there was still quite fun, cold snow to be found in some (few) exposures. We found what we were looking for here on the north-east side between approx. 2400 m and 2100 m. Everything that faces west has a cap. If you're lucky, it's bare ice and stable. If you are less lucky, it will break and the descent will be a challenge. In any case, anything but powder.

Risks

According to LLB 2 with a daily rate of 3: We have seen a lot of loose snow avalanches in the ski area, some of which have come down as a board with an approx. 15cm high leading edge. Partly dry, partly wet. However, it looks as if most of the avalanches had already come down yesterday. Everything seemed quite stable in the morning. With higher temperatures (it was 17 degrees in the Inn valley on the way home), however, we can expect a few more wet chutes!

One day too late for really good snow, but still happy with the yield. But you definitely have to be on the right slopes, otherwise you'll quickly experience really bad runs!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
