Snow report Zillertal, 04/06/2015

Snow condition

Thanks to the abundant snowfall of the last week, it's quite ok again. Even on the south side, it reaches quite far down on meadows. On the north side, it's also quite good in the forest, although there is occasional contact with the undergrowth at lower altitudes. Further up, ridges and crests are almost completely blown off in places.

Snow quality

Very deep and actually pretty good. From the snowfall period since last Tuesday there is mostly over 1m of soft snow, especially the snow that has fallen since the day before yesterday (a good 15cm on top) is also still super light and fluffy. In the course of the day, of course, it quickly becomes quite damp on sunny slopes...

With the amount of fresh snow and the wind from yesterday, it was of course not without its problems, plus the warming. All in all, it was manageable, but today the terrain was flatter above the tree line.

Overall impression

Pretty good. I don't give it 5 stars because there were still some traces of yesterday/the day before yesterday visible in the forest and it was actually too deep for the terrain that was rideable today, there weren't that many turns...
