Many off-road descents doable and not a single stone caught. More than satisfied for the time of year.
Snow quality
Approx. 10-15 cm of damp fresh snow on a mostly smooth base. Although the temperatures were surprisingly high (around 0°C) and the snow was very wet, you could glide along as smooth as butter. Not powdery powder, but much better than expected.
Risks
The fresh snow slips easily on the old snow cover. We therefore moved on rather flat terrain.
Overall impression
An excellent day, just shy of the 4th star. However, the positive overall impression is primarily due to the exceptional local knowledge of my companion, who blindly found the best snow and the best slopes despite the fog. We enjoyed a day in the backcountry to the full and made the most of every last second. Freshly waxed skis are definitely an advantage in the high temperatures.
