Summer firn in Hintertux
Zillertal
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Really good snow conditions on the Hintertux Glacier. with good will, skiing to the Sommerbergalm would still be possible, but of course this is not necessary and would hardly be worthwhile from the ski area side with the low number of skiers. it will certainly be a good summer on the glacier and probably also a good start to the next winter. off-piste skiing and ski tours are still possible for a long time in the higher areas.
Snow quality
Summer firn both on and off the slopes.
Risks
I would now describe it as quite relaxed.
Overall impression
It was actually quite nice, but the drag lifts at the top of the glacier were closed (probably due to the strong wind). This meant that you could only take the glacier bus 3, which limited the options and also meant that all the racing teams were on the one piste to the Fernerhaus, which meant that it quickly became very busy.
