Saisonstart am Hintertuxer Gletscher
Snow condition

Snow condition
There's not much snow up on the glacier yet. Thanks to the last snowfall, it is at least enough to ski on a little snow and not on bare ice. In some places, however, the ice is already reappearing. Descent to Tuxer Fernerhaus possible.
Snow quality
Depending on the exposure and time of day, very variable between icy and hard pistes (Gefrorene Wand + final slope Tuxer Fernerhausabfahrt) to wet snow (Olpererpisten). Some sections of the slopes are also quite easy to ski.
Risks
All the crevasses are still wide open and some of them are right next to the piste. I will attach some pictures of the crevasse zone.
Overall impression
It was nice to have a snowboard under my feet again and make a few first turns and jumps of the new winter season. Otherwise, it's currently only worth going to Hintertux for park riders (currently opening weekend) or for lovers of hard pistes.
Otherwise, we enjoyed the good view and took a few pictures of the surrounding steep faces and glaciers.
Olperer Nordgrat has apparently not been used since the last snowfall and looked partly icy. Access via the glacier hump also mostly bare (see pictures).
