It's not bare ice now, but there's hardly any snow. A few CMs from the beginning of the week make the whole thing skiable, but there really hasn't been much firn over the summer. The snow is really being scraped together from all corners to keep the slopes in good condition, with large crevasses everywhere.
Snow quality
It could be worse, but not exactly great. Nothing is possible off the slopes anyway.
Risks
The danger comes more from the crevasses and rocks, and that will remain the case for quite a while. There really is almost no snow, so it will take a lot before off-piste skiing becomes interesting.
Overall impression
Nice weather, relatively open, descent to the Fernerhaus possible. Not too busy, so I don't really want to complain. Conditions generally poor though.
