There is absolutely enough snow in the valley and on the ascent and descent via the piste on the Pfaffenbühl side, between 30-60cm. In the terrain above 2000m, stones and even grass were sticking out, as the foehn wind had transported a lot of snow. In the wind-protected terrain there were a few powder turns between pillows. Stone skis would not have been necessary if the route had been chosen appropriately.

Snow quality

Powdery between 2,500-2000, a little damp below. Was warm like a foehn. Good to ski even outside the tracked areas, provided it's steep enough.

Risks

Massive drifts, drift snow problems. Danger spots definitely present off the actual piste.

Overall impression

Nice recipe for a piste ski tour with a little Pow for spice. Lots going on despite the lifts not running. Piste was partially groomed, snow cannons off. Off-piste skiing will be even better with fresh snow

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
