No longer so bad. Varying between 2 and 3 stars, above the tree line certainly 3, in the forest sometimes still close, but also ok on the north side. No rock contact, but we were only on the north side. Only directly in ridge areas still a little blown off in places.
Snow quality
Super. Perfect, super light and dry fresh snow. Practically no wind (at least below about 2600m, above that there was more wind influence in places), minimal drifting in ridge areas. In the valley just under 10cm on a hard base, at 2000m a good 20cm on a soft, heavily settled base. Not really deep, but extremely good to ski.
Risks
Warning level 3, although I found it rather relaxed. The base consists mainly of deep rime, but almost everywhere the entire snow cover is unbound. Lots of sluff. No other signs of avalanches, but of course you should still be careful, especially in areas affected by wind, which are mainly found at higher altitudes (we were up to 2600m). The next time there is snowfall/stronger wind, it should be quite critical again.
Overall impression
Best day of 2014 so far. Also certainly top 3 this season, would be well up there in any other season too.
