Heavy snow on the Ilhorn due to the warm temperatures. In the northern exposition, the slide block showed a snow depth of 1.75 m with a crusty foundation; in other expositions there is little snow compared to the rest of the year. Snow started to fall at 13.20h, which should bring a lot in the next few days.

As mentioned, wet snow, light capping in western locations.

Risks

At 13.25 h we saw the helicopter flying over a fresh descent for a long time. It didn't look good. Rescuers were also at the scene of the accident. With the snowfall, the helicopter operation was at its limit. The descent took place in a large couloir with a north-north-westerly exposure. Everyone is smarter afterwards, but it has to be said that the SLF's warnings were very clear.

Overall impression

Actually a relaxed tour without risk, which gives food for thought due to the observations at medium distance.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
