Wind drifted snow

North North-Eas North-West

Intensity: strong

Altitude: 1200 m – 4000 m

Risks

Cracking (When entering the snow cover)
Diurnal warming
Much fresh snow
South-West West

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Critical amount of fresh snow exceeded. On steep slopes, it slides easily above the edges of the terrain. Very heavy snow.

Overall impression

Equal

St. Luc was very cardboardy. Chandolin was much better and deeper. But we picked up the odd stone. And the snow is tearing out trees and bindings. It's still snowing up to 1800 and it'll be warm tomorrow. It's hard to tell what will happen at altitude. Although there's a barrage from the blasting masters in the ski area, there really is a lot of fresh snow at higher altitudes, which will put any plans into question. Still great, almost like winter.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
