The first base is now in place, but there is still a lot missing for larger off-piste excursions. The west side has blown off a lot and a lot has been transported to the leeward sides.
Snow quality
Above 2300m actually quite nice, about 20cm of fresh snow. Crusty underneath and soft from midday. A bit unusual for December. Below 2300 m it rained heavily on Friday.
Risks
Wet landslides visible below 2300m, above that also smaller cracks of older date. In my opinion, the danger will soon be considerable due to the large loads.
Overall impression
Little going on in the area, blasting masters at altitude, so not much open in Grimentz. Nevertheless, there were a few nice turns. But there's still a lot missing for the area to develop its good off-piste potential.
