Today from the parking lot at 930 m on skis, but near the valley it soon becomes very hostile. From 1200 m, plenty of snow for ascent and fast descent. Everything well snowed in in the cirque.
Snow quality
Not too icy in the ascent, from approx. 1700m partly soft pressed snow, otherwise already firn this morning. Good and fast skiing, better than expected.
Risks
Old loose snow slide. LWS was a 2 today, warning especially against sliding snow. No sliding snow cracks seen, no rain until this afternoon thanks to the foehn.
Overall impression
The 20 or so tourers were well distributed between the two cirques, weather and snow better than expected. Beautiful tour, everything was perfect. You couldn't really expect powder in Bavaria after the heatwave. So firn skiing was the order of the day.
