Snow condition
you can get to the Karwendel without having to carry your skis for a long time. the overall snow depth is ok, not outstanding but not completely terrible either. on the snow profile there was over 1.60m of snow.
Snow quality
From 1400 m, powder snow soaked by the rain is no longer crusty, but quicker sulzpowder
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Overall impression
mild day on the mountain with undoubtedly rather mixed snow. but it was fun and it was time to dig a snow profile. 1500m 30 degrees expo north. Break 30cm deep over crust sandwich. breaks after 9th hit from elbow. at about 1m depth more weak layer but very hard to trigger in our case.
