Snow condition

As the slopes at the bottom are quite thickly snow-covered, there is still enough snow for a while. At the Osterfelderkopf, however, the first small gravel areas are already coming through.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

The ascent is extremely icy, especially the first 250m or so. Crampons are worthwhile there. Quite a few people have made several ascents because they slipped and couldn't hold on.

Risks

The avalanche risk is currently quite relaxed. The warming during the day plays a primary role, especially on sunny slopes.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

The ascent was a real challenge on the brilliantly icy piste. Crampons can make a big difference here. Many people were skiing without gloves, in short sleeves or even in shorts. Some of them regretted this when they fell on the ascent. There were many falls, and in some cases people were swept away when someone slipped above them.
The descent was consistently firn and very pleasant.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
