The ascent from the valley is currently possible, but there isn't really much lying around and by the evening the sun had already done a lot of work again. From 1300m there is a good base. Depending on the exposure, sometimes less, sometimes more. Due to the sun, which is already quite strong, there is usually much less snow, especially on the south side. But even terrain close to the combs is still often blown off.

Really good!!! One of the best days this season. We had really fine powder in all exposures. On the south and west sides, the snow got pretty heavy by midday. On the north side we still had really nice powder snow in the afternoon. In the last few days we've had around 30-40cm of fresh snow. It seems to have fallen exceptionally with hardly any wind.

Risks

According to the LLB warning level 2, the snow cover made a very stable impression. Only in very steep terrain did the fresh snow come along a little. However, this is likely to become significantly worse as the weather warms up. There were a few self-releases from very steep terrain and that was already at half past 10 a.m. So definitely be careful with the tracks. Apart from that, there was no wind this time.

What a day. We did a classic this time. The Grünstein bypass, so unfortunately there was a lot going on. Nevertheless, there was still enough space to pull really cool lines in the powder. To wipe out in such conditions on this tour is reason enough for the 4-star this time :) -- Pictures will follow
