Snow report Zugspitz Arena, 03/12/2015
Steep gullies in the Mieminger, all exposures 1000-2500m
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Slightly below average for this time of year, but all tours from 1500m are still possible without problems. On the north side you can still ski up to 1000m. There is hardly any ground contact to be expected due to the snow cover.
Snow quality
In north-facing gullies and cirques you can still find good set powder up to around 1500m. All sunny exposures are of course frozen through in the morning, but as the day warms up there is nice firn. With the right timing, you can still have a lot of fun
Risks
LWD Tyrol reports level 1 all day. Temperatures not yet so high that spontaneous avalanche activity could be observed. Very stable snow cover overall. Best conditions for steep activities.
Overall impression
Perfect day for steep wall descents in the Miemingers! Fantastic weather on the south-facing ascent and fine powder in the steep north gullies. The whole thing in safe conditions. TOP! unfortunately, the photos are all skewed...no idea why the site does that...
