Snow condition
The snow conditions are good and you can easily get back down to the parking lot. You only have to watch out for stones on the steep east and south-facing slopes.
Snow quality
The snow quality is very variable. Beautiful powder snow at the top, here the snow is very compact and lies on a hard layer. Nice firn at the bottom, but very hard on the shaded side in places (where there is no fresh snow).
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
No fresh avalanches were observed. The avalanche situation varies greatly depending on the exposure. The extremely strong winds of the last few days have definitely transported a lot of snow, so you have to watch out for drift snow here. The base is slightly better on sunny slopes, but on the north side the drifting snow tends to lie on soft layers. You should therefore keep the base in mind, especially for the coming snowfalls.
Overall impression
Although the planned descent fell through due to our concerns about the drift snow on the entrance slope, it was still a great day. Great weather and decent snow, so it turned out to be a good Saturday.
