When 10cm of fresh snow was reported this morning, I turned off the alarm clock and went back to sleep. When I came up at 11am, there was already 20cm of fresh snow and hardly any people... :-)
Snow quality
Very loose powder with no wind influence. However, the little bit of sun that shone through the clouds at midday was enough to make the snow heavy.
Risks
Overall impression
A rewarding day in terms of snow, if it weren't for the many tracks of snow groomers in the terrain. People still haven't understood that freeriders are the future and that you shouldn't spoil their fun. Terrain features such as rocks etc. can be memorized and skied around. But the artificial obstacles pushed up by the snow groomers can break all your bones. The Zugspitze always gets a big minus for this!
