Hohe Munde

Overall impression
Snow condition
Still lots of snow despite the warm weather! Off the parking lot with the skis, no carrying passages. Will be fine for a while yet! Also the steep slope to the Hohe Munde with lots of snow and very easy to ski
Snow quality
Thanks to night-time radiation, the snow surface was frozen hard from bottom to top in the morning (06:00). In the upper part up to approx. 2,200 m, the snow was very fine and fun to ski on, but below that the snow was already very wet and you break in deep. Here the snow cover probably couldn't freeze through completely. The slope was probably already heavily used in the previous days, i.e. many old tracks.
Risks
Daytime warming on this tour is the main factor for tour planning. As this is a south-eastern slope, it gets the sun very early, so a (very) early start is essential here. Today we started at 06.00 am, departure at 09.15 am.
Overall impression
A dream day with lots of sunshine on a fantastic ski mountain. Unfortunately it was too warm overall, so that half of the tour took place in heavy snow (despite a very early descent).
Unfortunately, it had already been very hard to ski in.
