Tajatörle over the Brendlkar
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
From the parking lot up the slopes is just fine. From 1500 m upwards, the snow increases quickly, even off-piste. No stone contact on the descent in the sparse forest. Above the tree line, good snow cover of almost 1 m in places. Definitely top for November. Therefore 3 stars
Snow quality
Slopes hard frozen. Otherwise getting better and better on the north side from 1500. Loose powder snow still well preserved at the top. Wind cover in places. Overall, however, there was significantly less wind than on the glaciers. Under the Karlstörle and between the Tajaköpfe you feel like you're in the depths of winter
Risks
Hardly any at the bottom. On the steeper north-facing slopes, you need good judgment and a defensive line choice. On the ascent there were a few places with surface frost. However, small cornices and drift snow are easy to recognize near the ridge. On the south side you should watch out for wet snow and get down early
Overall impression
Great start to the tour for November. We were completely on our own and made tracks. Only on the descent did two tourers come to meet us. We definitely have a good basis for the rest of the season. Let's see what the new snowfalls bring.
