Learning objectives
Focus on basic techniques and safety on the mountain. Participants learn to move safely and in a controlled manner in unprepared terrain.
Equipment
Ski pass, skis, poles, bindings
Ski boots
Suitable clothing in which you can spend a day on the mountain (expect sub-zero temperatures): Jacket, trousers, midlayer & functional underwear
Helmet
Backpack* including: avalanche probe
Avalanche transceiver (LVS)
Avalanche shovel (metal)*Avalanche airbag backpacks are recommended but not essential
Skill level
This course is aimed at participants who are going into unprepared terrain for the first or second time. The prerequisite is safe skiing or snowboarding on black pistes, with a focus on developing self-confidence and control. You will ski steep slopes in unprepared terrain in different snow conditions.
