Freetouring Weekend in the Kaunertal by Sport Conrad

What to expect:

• 2  nights in a double room with half board (subject to sufficient hotel occupancy

• 2-day ski pass

• 2  days freeride guiding

• Sport Conrad Shopping voucher

• Safety equipment, freeride and touring skis from Black Diamond for testing (subject to availability)

Program:

• Arrival: By Friday 19:00 for a welcome, equipment distribution and dinner together

• Sat/Sun: A full day of freeride guiding on the Kaunertal Glacier

• Guiding in the terrain, teaching skiing technique, improving skiing skills

• Departure: Sunday after the ski day

Accommodation:

The Hotel Hafele in Feichten is the closest option to the ski resort and serves as the base for the Freetouring Weekend. From there, the ski bus takes you up to the glacier every day at a starting altitude of 2500 metres. The Hotel Hafele welcomes you with a very warm and familiar atmosphere, beautiful rooms and everything that makes the "all-round" perfect. The complete package includes overnight stay with breakfast and an excellent 3-course evening meal from the local kitchen.

Your skill level:

• Safe and frequent skiing on black pistes

• Basic fitness for 2 whole days of off-piste skiing

• pushing and/or skating passages to access some freeride descents

• Short ascents with skis on (approx. 15min)

• generaly confortable with transport in lifts and gondolas

Equipement required:

• Freeride skis with ascent-compatible bindings and skins

• Telescopic poles with large deep-snow discs

• Ski touring or freeride boots with walking mode

• Freeride backpack with chest and waist belt approx. 15-30 L

• LVS equipment (if you don't have your own, we will provide you with this free of charge)

• Helmet, ski goggles, sunglasses

• Functional clothing

• Insulation clothing/layer and functional underwear 

• 2 pairs of gloves, hat, buff/face protection

• Drink bottle/Camelbak

• Freeride test skis from Black Diamond will be provided free of charge during the camp. Please note that some of the test skis are equipped with pin bindings and you will need ski boots with pin inserts for these (please let us know in advance if you need test skis)

Notes:

• You are responsible for organizing your own catering during the day 

•  You are responsible for your own arrival and departure.
