Safety Shred Days 2025 - Pyrenees
20-21 December 2025 (with Mathieu Crépel)
The Safety Shred Days are coming back to the Pyrenees! Two days of avalanche safety, freeride courses and learning together in the Grand Tourmalet ski area: open to all levels. It all starts on Friday evening with a free movie night.
Movie Night - Friday, 19 December (free)
Film screenings, rider talks and a kick-off to the weekend - open to all.
Safety Day - Saturday, 20 December
A full day of avalanche and risk training in three levels (Novice, Intermediate, Expert): Avalanche basics, probing, shovelling, first aid, snow awareness as well as realistic scenarios and terrain analysis with certified guides. (Mostly in French)
Price: €55 incl. ski pass, breakfast & lunch.
Riding Sessions - Sunday, 21 December
Guided freeride, ski touring or splitboard - from the Discovery course to the legendary "Freeride au Pic du Midi" session. Perfect for applying the content from the previous day directly in the terrain.
Price: €115 / €145 for Pic du Midi.
Weekend format
Take part in one or both days - ideal for building skills and (re)discovering the Grand Tourmalet region.
Bring along:
Ski/snowboard, avalanche transceiver equipment, warm clothing, valid insurance. Equipment hire on site (limited availability).

Founded in 2018 by snowboard pro Victor Daviet after surviving several avalanche experiences, the Safety Shred Days have a clear goal: to better prepare riders of all levels for risk and emergency situations in the mountains.
Victor's personal experiences gave rise to the vision of making avalanche and risk training accessible to everyone. Uncomplicated, affordable and practical. Since then, the Safety Shred Days have become a Europe-wide early-season event for snowboarders and freeriders.
The concept
One weekend, two focal points:
- Safety Day: Practical avalanche rescue, risk management & theory - for beginners to pro level.
- Riding Day: Guided freeriding, ski tours or splitboard sessions to directly apply what you have learnt.
A relaxed community event with workshops, riding, movie night & more.
For all ages and levels of experience.
The goal
To reduce accidents in the backcountry.
We want to make avalanche knowledge and prevention accessible to as many riders as possible through affordable, practical training - across different countries, resorts and age groups.
