The three short films show the diversity of movement in the snow - from technology and freeriding to community and commitment. The Snow Motion film evenings tour mountain resorts in Europe and combine film, discussions with guests and insights into local environmental initiatives.

Description of the

In January 2026, Patagonia is releasing a series of short films dedicated to the joys of snowsports. From the magic of the perfect turn to technical freeriding in the backcountry to the power of passion and community in an old mill in France, each film tells a story about what time in nature can give us and how transformative human movement can be.The Snow Movie Nights are touring Europe, celebrating the stories and characters that make up the snow community and reminding us why it's important to protect winter.At each tour stop, Ambassadors, filmmakers and NGO partners will host conversations about the simple joy of gliding on snow and the shared responsibility we have to preserve these places.

Le Moulin des Artistes - Director: Pierre Cadot

Some people earn their living with their craft. Others can't live without it. In a 16th century mill in the Chamonix valley, Peter and Anati run Le Moulin des Artistes: a ski workshop, an art space and a meeting place for like-minded free spirits.

Simple as a Turn - Director: Pierre Cadot

For Nicholas Wolken, the turn is more than just the foundation of snowboarding. It is the simplest expression of what snowboarding is all about. From his professional career to developing snowboards specifically designed for turns, he has spent much of his life seeking the intense feeling that carving on snow brings 

DIG - Director: Nicholas Teichrob

Skiing down a 1,200 metre high wall is one thing, but hiking up it is a completely different challenge. The difference in altitude is so extreme that even a small snowball can quickly turn into a dangerous avalanche and the snow quality can change unexpectedly within a few steps.

Nicholas Wolken

Nicholas "Nico" Wolken is a professional snowboarder from Switzerland and co-founder of KORUA Shapes. Over the years, Nico has developed one of the most distinctive and influential turning styles in snowboarding and balances his life between his time in the mountains and his work as a psychotherapist.

Giorgia Garancini

With a background in event organisation, Giorgia Garancini, known as Gio, is a freelancer who develops projects that have a positive and sustainable impact. Her passion for connecting regions and people characterises her work, which focuses on activism as a tool for social change. She strongly believes in the role of communities in redefining the protection of endangered territories by promoting active participation and self-determination.

Disclaimer: The films will be subtitled in Italian, but the Q&A with Nicholas after the screening will be mainly in English; moderator Giorgia Garancini will ensure that the questions are translated into Italian.
