Pitztal Glacier Opening 2026 – FREE Splitboard Test

When? Saturday, November 7, & Sunday, November 8, 2026
Where? Pitztal Glacier, Tyrol
How? Testing is free; all you need is a valid one-day or two-day pass for the Pitztal Glacier

To kick off the 2026/27 splitboard season, the Pitztal Glacier and Splitboards Europe invite all splitboarders to a big free test event. Here, you won’t just look at the gear—you’ll ride it right on the slopes and compare it. On hard glacier slopes, you’ll immediately see how a board grips, how smoothly it rides, and how responsively it responds to your control. As soon as the first fresh snow falls, testing will also take place in the powder.

The highlights:

  • Europe’s largest manufacturer-independent splitboard test pool

  • Splitboards and bindings from all leading brands

  • Latest models from the 2026/27 season

  • Test boards in ride mode; compare bindings in walk mode as well (conversion, ascent, handling with gloves)

  • Independent advice on boards, bindings, boots, and setups

Advice from mr.splitboards: Splitboard pioneer mr.splitboards has been riding and testing splitboards since 1999 and has been guiding tours for about two decades—from the Alps to Sweden, the Pyrenees, and Kyrgyzstan. He’ll be at the test station both days to help you find the setup that suits your riding style, weight, and touring preferences. This isn’t about any specific brand.
