The conditions are really great for the early season and a spontaneous trip is a good idea, as nothing is likely to change in the Alps or here in the foreseeable future (until Christmas). This means one storm after another and the Alps stay dry or it rains above 2000m.

But as a little teaser first: You should choose an area with touring opportunities. For me, it was Revelstoke, with the Rogers Pass in the neighborhood, which is quite well-known even in Europe.
There is currently about 1m of well-set snow in the lower part of the ski resort and at Rogers Pass at 1300m (significantly less in the village itself) with a fine powder layer, 140-170cm of powder further up in the forest up to the tree line and of course more or less at the top depending on the wind.
There is even more in the Coast Mountains (Whistler) and the Cascades (Mt. Baker). If you don't want to be frustrated over Christmas, you might want to consider a flight. For me, the first week of BC powder has already relieved the pre-season frustration.
