At Ispo 2013, it was presented in Europe for the first time - at that time still as the Diamir Zenith 12. The new and thus first pin binding from Diamir will be called the Vipec 12 and will continue to get the pin binding market moving. For a long time, Fritschi has concentrated on developing frame bindings. In recent years, the Swiss company has now developed a pin binding for the first time, which will be launched on the market this winter - the Diamir Vipec 12 should be available in winter sports stores from January 2014. The question of the advantages and disadvantages of frame and pin bindings is the subject of much debate. One thing is clear: both systems have their justification. Reduced to a few key words, the main focus was on safety on the one hand and weight and ease of ascent on the other. However, with the Vipec 12, which brings more safety to pin bindings, a development could begin that closes the gap more and more. We have not yet had the final product in our hands and have not been able to use the Diamir Vipec 12 in the backcountry and test whether it works as well as it is advertised. We have heard good things from various sources so far. We hope to mount the binding on a pair of skis soon and try to provide you with a review of the Vipec 12 on PowderGuide.com as soon as possible. Here are a few facts about the new binding.
