Today we are releasing our new PowderGuide-Map (PG-Map), which is now available at map.powderguide.com. In this article we present the basic principles and will provide more detailed information on all functions in further articles. The PG-Map will provide space for our weather forecasts (PG-ICON-Weather) as well as many other contents: ConditionsReports, editorial, locatable content and soon also tour tracks, SnowReports and other info from partner websites. We are very happy and grateful for the second generation of PG-ICON-Weather, which has reliably provided us with very accurate forecasts. But now we are ready, proud, excited and also relieved to bring the new PowderGuide-Map to the light of day.

The HEAD KORE Ti collection promises uncompromising off-piste fun. Whether on the piste, in perfect powder snow or when the going gets rougher. In the wide KORE series with six different middle widths from 88 to 118 mm for men and four versions for women (87 to 104 mm), everyone will find the right companion for perfect days on the mountain. Whether as an all-mountain version, versatile freeride all-rounder or big mountain machine. The sporty and reliable DNA runs like a perfect thread through the KORE series.

An astonishing number of campers have been using the PUSHcomponents bike rack for several years now. Mounting with the handlebars on the rear doors, which was still conspicuous at the beginning, has already established itself as normal. The ski, snowboard and cross-country ski holders and the SNOWbag from PUSHcomponents are even less common. We have tested the SNOWbag and provide an update on the options for attaching winter sports equipment to campers and vans.

Having unfortunately not found the time in recent winters to travel to the beautiful mountains of the Western Alps as often as I used to, contact with La Grave has also become somewhat more sporadic. So I was all the more pleased when we finally decided to spend a few days in La Grave again this year. But I was all the more shocked when Anne, Guillaume's girlfriend, replied to my email to him to say that he had died unexpectedly last winter. It's been a week and a half now and I'm still collecting my thoughts.

After extensively testing the flagship model from Atomic's new freeride line launched last year and publishing the short test last season, here is the overdue, full-fledged gear review now. For several years now, a handful and a half of friends have been getting together once a winter to explore more or less distant mountain regions on skis and splitboards, but also to get to know other countries and cultures. They have travelled far to Romania, Kamchatka or Armenia, but have also travelled closer, for example to Ticino. This time, in winter 2023/24, the destination was chosen by lottery for the Julian Alps in Slovenia, with the additional requirement of 'winter camping'. This winter - and half of the last one - has been very special. But who am I telling? That's probably how the majority of our articles started. And yet I want to emphasize this once again. For whom has this strange situation not led to change? Last year was a bit special and unfortunately, for the first time in PG's history, we didn't have the opportunity to meet our partners directly at ISPO. Nevertheless, we caught up with our partners to get information on new products and highlights for the 2021/22 season and to give you a small and fine insight into the new products for the next powder season. With the thaw of the last few days, the fantastic winter landscape in the Black Forest has unfortunately been washed away for the time being. For over a month, the conditions - apart from a brief warm period - were almost Canadian. At least the fir trees looked like deep snow-covered Sitka spruces in Canada the whole time. And the snow quality was most reminiscent of North America, but certainly not of the Black Forest - synonyms such as "Baden Columbia" or "Little Canada" were heard again and again.

A varied round tour with a detour to Italy - one of the classics from the Forno hut. If you're not just interested in the big peaks, you should plan this circular tour. Val Bona often offers good snow conditions (mostly on the lee side) and rewarding downhill terrain. The ascent into the basin between Monte Rosso and Cima di Val Bona is just as much a ski mountaineering highlight as the summit of Val Bona.
