The 2012 Freeride World Tour season kicks off on January 6 in Revelstoke, Canada. The elite of the freeride world are getting ready to make their first turns in the fresh powder of British Columbia and begin the race for the crown of world champion. The reigning champions Aurélien Ducroz, Mitch Tölderer, Janette Hargin and Anne-Flore Marxer will certainly not have an easy time defending their titles.
The qualification runs took place on January 5, in which 17 skiers from the field of 83 qualified for the final runs. Benjamin Ogilvie (CAN) came out on top in the men's race. Local hero Lexi Dupont (CAN) impressed the judges with her "direct Fall-Line Skiing". The weather and snow in Revelstoke offer the perfect mix for an action-packed final weekend.
