For the tenth anniversary of the Longboard Classic in Stuben, numerous snowboard legends have announced their attendance: Chuck Barfoot, owner of the snow surf and skate company of the same name and one of the four founding fathers of snowboarding. Terry Kidwell, the "Godfather of Freestyle", four-time Freestyle World Champion and legendary Sims team rider and Shawn Farmer, the freeride legend who showed us what it means to be an Alaska local in the late 80s.
The Le Mans mass start principle
As usual, the Longboard Classic race starts from the Albonagrat (2,408 m), off-piste down a whole 1,001 vertical meters to Stuben Dorf (1,407 m), starting in three categories (old school, boys and girls).
The motto...
...is, as always, not to come first, but to meet friends, make new ones and have fun snowboarding with like-minded people. Of course, longboards and freeride equipment from various companies can be tested.
The big party
But that's not all: it's going to be a huge party with a class reunion of legends. Three generations of snowboarding heroes from the industry, riders and media will be celebrating ten years of the Longboard Classic together!
