Not a big surprise: lack of snow in Kappl too. The organizers of the Open Faces series therefore had to announce the postponement of the contest planned for 25 January. The alternative date is 22 February. Despite good piste conditions in the Kappl-Paznaun ski area, there is not enough snow to hold a freeride contest: "We consulted with the local organizers and didn't make the decision easy for ourselves. Safety is clearly our top priority and this is not guaranteed in the current conditions. So there is no other option but to postpone this contest as well," explains Markus Löffler from the Open Faces organizing team. The alternative date for the event is February 22. So we'll have to keep waiting until freeriders have their first chance to earn Austrian Freeride World Qualifier points. The next date is the one-star competition on the Hochkönig on February 1.
