Four powder events with the Dude will take place in 2011/12. Planning ski tours and freeride days correctly, mastering the search for avalanche victims, correctly assessing the terrain and finding the optimal ascent and descent line. This is what the four The BigLePowSki events are all about. And above all, the powder events are designed to teach participants how to minimize their risks off-piste.
The "Dude" is planning four stops in winter 2011/12: St. Anton, Engelberg, Chamonix and Sogndal. All of these resorts are among the "bignames" when it comes to freeriding. The Freeride Happening series starts in St. Anton am Arlberg in Austria (16 - 18.12.2011), then moves on to Engelberg in central Switzerland (13 - 15.1.2012), stops in the superlative freeride region of Chamonix (23 - 25.3.2012) and ends in Sogndal (23 - 25.3.2012). - 25.3.2012) and the finale in Sogndal, Norway (13 - 15 April 2012).

Camps and workshops for beginners and advanced skiers
Guided tours and freeride courses for beginners and advanced riders are offered by freeride pros and freeriding mountain guides at every event. Girls and women can explore the terrain in women's freeride groups if they wish. Another offer are the photo workshops with photographer Baschi Bender, for all those who want to capture their freeride experiences in great pictures but don't yet know exactly how to take the best photos in the snow (worthwhile for beginners, but especially for advanced riders).
In the avalanche search field, you can practise using avalanche emergency equipment under professional guidance.
The program also includes introductory workshops on the topics of "Assessing the current avalanche situation", "Reading freeride maps" and "Equipment check for freeriding and touring".
Experienced mountain guides and Black Diamond freeride athletes are available to participants as instructors and contacts.
The latest skis, climbing skins and avalanche emergency equipment can be tested at all events. A pair of "The Dude" special edition skis will be auctioned off at each stop. The proceeds from this auction support a charitable project in the respective region of the event.
At the Dude parties, various live bands really heat up the party guests.
