"FAR AWAY" - how far away are you?

Who hasn't heard their loved ones say things like "take care" when setting off for a day in the mountains? Sometimes these well-intentioned words can be annoying, but you can understand them. But how do relatives of professional freeriders feel when they set off for work? Do they also know these phrases or has setting off on a steep descent already become routine for their family? Matthias Haunholder and Matthias Mayr tackle this exciting question in their new film, which is why the title "Far Away" does not primarily refer to the geographical distance, but rather deals with the emotional connections between the athletes and their relatives such as parents and spouses. The result is an action-packed freeski film that also provides an insight into the emotional lives of the people who play the most important roles in the lives of the protagonists. Austria was once again the main filming location, Obtertauern, for example, was one of the places where numerous shots were taken.
The protagonists, once again the elite of the German-speaking freeride scene. In addition to the main protagonists Matthias Haunholder and Matthias Mayr, Christian Reichenberger, Flo Orley, Pia Widmesser and the second snowboarder Chris Fuschlberger are also involved.
