Every year, Teton Gravity Research (TGR) sends us top-class freeride films. Re:Session also fits seamlessly into this exclusive collection. Deep powder, high cliffs and steep Alaska lines at their finest.
The TGR films are known for their mix of snowboarding and freeskiing, backcountry jibbing, cliffhucking in deep Jackson Hole powder and, above all, breathtaking Alaska lines. And every year, the limits of what is possible are pushed further in the direction of "Boah, absolutely awesome, krasss"!
Re:Session ripples along for the first few minutes. Lots of backcountry hopping and the usual adulation of the Jackson Hole Tram. In the second half, however, things really get going. With Tanner Hall, Dana Flahr, Seth Morrison and Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, to name just a few of the actors, the most progressive riders are at the start. Once again, they manage to make the steep spines and pillowlines look like kindergarten runs. The action is once again unprecedented. A 720 rodeo or massive 30-meter backflips are almost standard! Tanner Hall has already understood why we all like it so much: If it were easy, everyone would be doing it!
However, it must also be noted that the skier guard is to be seen with great superiority. The non-appearance of the exceptional snowboard athlete Jeremy Jones (whose film "Deeper" will not be released until next season) is noticeable to every TGR connoisseur. In terms of film, TGR is as convincing as ever; musically, this time they are going in a soft electro direction.
Conclusion
Re:Session is another first-class freeride flick. The Alaskan heli action in particular remains unrivaled. The highlight for alpine freeriders is clearly the Alagna segment. The certainty that even spoiled "champagne"powder freaks from Jackson Hole report the "deepest powder of their lives" is balm against the pre-winter freeride frustration.
