The two-year project by two film students has attracted a lot of media attention. And rightly so. All.I.Can. is a truly outstanding freeride film. It appeals to both action-hungry and artistically inclined contemporaries and is refreshingly different to anything previously seen in the ski sector.
Some may criticize the fact that the action shown in the film is somewhat hidden. The focus is on the message. Sound, plot and suspense almost distract from the skiing action. Despite many so-called "hike to rides" with touring skis and skins, this is certainly on offer. Big mountain lines from the tent camp somewhere on a huge Greenland glacier, treeskiing with massive pillow lines in Canada or the integrated heliski segment with the classic steep face powder jump down in Alaska.
Conclusion
All.I.Can is the best freeride film of all time. By far! At least since Willy Bogner's "Fire&Ice". And I've really spent many hours watching ski movies with popcorn and beer since Blizzard of Ahhhs. The editing, camera work, background music, suspense and ski action are all top-notch. However, if you don't want to go to an artistic level, you are welcome to stick to the ski porn of better-known productions. "All.I.Can." gets the full 5 PG stars without any ifs and buts!
