Gear of the Week | Flylow Tough Guy Gloves

Win your own pair of Tough Guys

by Totti Lingott 03/02/2013
Construction worker gloves for tough guys? In the Gear of the Week you can win your own pair...

Who hasn't seen them, the indestructible builder's gloves that you can get for little money at Obi & Co. In North American ski resorts, these full-leather gloves have been seen for good reason for several years now, outnumbering high-tech gloves with the latest membranes from well-known manufacturers - ski patrollers in particular swear by them. If these gloves are too cold for you, simply put on a pair of woolen gloves underneath. The North American ski clothing manufacturers at Flylow have recognized this trend and offer a range of full leather gloves that are specially prepared to be water-repellent for use in the snow - but still look like the original construction worker gloves.

Tough Guy Gloves - not for thugs or construction workers, but for skiers and other winter activities.

I've been using the gloves since December - for all kinds of activities - whether skiing, putting on chains on the snow-covered ski resort access road or chopping wood in front of the ski touring hut. And I am thrilled. The hands always stay nice and warm and you don't sweat as much as in synthetic gloves, even during strenuous activities (chopping wood). The Tough Guys can't be broken anyway - that's probably why they're called that. Please don't think they're only for tough guys (tough guy [Am.] [coll.] -> thug {m} [ugs.]). They would certainly be good for that too, but I haven't tested that yet - and I ask you not to test that either. You could sarcastically suggest that this is the reason why all American ski patrollers like the Flylow Tough Guys so much, but I really don't want to go that far. We're drifting away from the actual topic and there's really only one thing left to announce:

Win your own pair of Flylow Tough Guy Gloves

In North America, the gloves are completely sold out and won't be back in the hardware stores, er, ski stores until next winter. We have the opportunity to give away a pair of Tough Guys this winter. I would like to prevent any misinterpretation of the previous sentence by pointing out that we are giving away gloves and not guys... All you have to do is answer the following question and send the correct answer via email to PowderGuide.com by March 10, 2013 (until 11:59 pm CET). Here again the email link! As always, legal recourse is excluded. Links too, by the way. All entries with the correct answer will be entered into the prize draw. Please don't forget to include your shipping address and size in the email!

How are the gloves sealed to make them waterproof?

A little tip: The following link may be crucial for the answer!
