Analogous to ISPO, which took place in Munich in February, trends towards sustainability can also be seen at Outdoor.

Primaloft, for example, recycles plastic bottles, cleans, shreds and melts them down and produces an insulating fabric from this granulate, which is used in jackets from the manufacturer Vaude.

Gore has further developed its Shakedry technology so that the membrane can now be printed. This technology dispenses with a textile outer fabric and the GoreTex membrane sits as the top layer on the laminate. The advantage is the permanently water-repellent property of the PTFE, which does not require environmentally harmful impregnation and should therefore allow water droplets to roll off permanently.

As is the case every year at almost all trade fairs, Outdoor once again offered the opportunity to climb mountains, run through forests or even go canoeing with the help of virtual reality.

In addition, a slackline competition was held on the outdoor area of the trade fair, which provided great entertainment during the lunch break.

In general, Outdoor is much more summer-oriented than ISPO. We could now write pages and pages about new sewing technologies for T-shirts, design changes to mountain boots or hammocks in all shapes and colors.
