Partnership PowderGuide x MountainGuide
PowderGuide and the mountain guide office Engelberg MountainGuide are joining forces from this season on! The renowned office in Engelberg specialised in freeriding and ski touring almost two decades ago and is therefore a perfect match for PowderGuide.com!
Even before the big freeride hype started in Engelberg, the locals were already out and about on the famous north-facing slopes - now they take their guests there as mountain guides. Back then, they still used 'normal piste skis' and were still untracked on the Galtiberg three days after fresh snowfall. The frits are no longer as narrow as in this video from 1980 and it's no longer as cosy to cruise down the slopes of Engelberg! But with the knowledge of the mountain guides, you're sure to find a few beautiful untouched spots in the mountains around Engelberg!
The office offers courses for all winter sports disciplines - for beginners to professional freeriders. We will focus more on the offers for more experienced freeriders, although this is still quite broadly orientated for very good piste skiers and their 'first experiences in deep snow' up to the absolute ski bums who are out on the mountain every day (see levels above).
In the coming season, we will keep you informed about the various camps and courses on offer and also organise attractive raffles so that you have the opportunity to experience the great potential of legendary runs such as Laub and Galtiberg. You can also find all camps in the PowderGuide event calendar!
The pre-season camps are the perfect way to prepare for a safe and injury-free season!
All pre-season camps are offered for different skill levels. From STARTER (MILD) to SKI FREAK (HELL), the groups are divided up so that the course can pick you up and take you to the level that suits you best. Want to find out which level is right for you? You can find out in detail here. Please note that the camp is not designed for freeride or ski tour beginners. You should have experience in the above-mentioned areas, be a solid skier or snowboarder and have a good basic level of fitness. When registering, you also have the option of indicating in which language you would like to take part in the course (English & German).
