Welcome dear friends of fluffy fun. The season is starting again and ULLR is now officially starting at PowderGuide. In case you're wondering about the "official" start of the season: As Ullr's media partner, we of course have access to internals and that's why only we have the official start of the season.
Seriously. Why not earlier? It has already snowed quite a lot and sometimes quite deeply.
Yes, but! Either there was no base yet, or it rained again shortly afterwards up to almost 3000m, so it didn't seem sensible to ring in the season for a 12-hour window.
This time it's different. Not only will we get a really cold northerly storm at the weekend, but there will also be a base from medium altitudes AND it's likely to stay quite cool and damp, so it will hopefully remain wintry from now on, even in the medium and long term.
So get your skis out, put your avalanche transceivers on batteries and start your leg training now at the latest, because it's on.
