Little has changed since the last article, especially in terms of the snow situation. A few more event dates have subsequently been added and the Freeride World Tour has extended contracts with ski resorts.

The Joel (or Joelspitze) may not even be 2,000 m high, but it is still a popular tour (especially from the valley). And not for nothing, as it offers many downhill variants with manageable difficulty. What's more, the ascent from the lifts is only a short hop ...

What better way to start 2008 than with fluffy powder and sunshine? As we bought the Kitzbühel Alps season pass this year and 40 centimetres of fresh snow fell on New Year's Eve, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to making our first tracks on New Year's Day in the ski areas of Kitzbühel, St. Johann, Fieberbrunn, Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental, Wildschönau or Alpbachtal. Our choice is the Alpbachtal.
