Disentis

Last week, after a freeride descent in the Disentis freeride area, we climbed over the Oberalpstock to the Cavardiras hut. This time we have the highlight of the tour: the Steintalrinne from the Fruttstock down into the Maderanertal.

This week we present a two-day tour that can be undertaken without much effort from the Disentis ski area.

Völkl's widest powder ski is getting an update this winter. Since the Kuro first came onto the market in winter 2008, it has only changed marginally. The 2013 version is now being revised and will be significantly stiffer and therefore heavier thanks to titanium inserts. PowderGuide has already had the opportunity to put the powder weapon through its paces in the deep Tyrolean snow and the rugged off-piste terrain of Disentis.

From March 16 to 18, a very special freeride contest will take place in the Grisons Oberland for the fifth time – The Eco Freeride Contest "Kick the Vik"!

It was 20 years ago, but Martin still remembers his first skiing vacation with his parents very clearly. He was only five years old and the five-hour drive to the ski resort in central Sweden was a long one. Martin remembers the joy of the falling snow, the cold wind in his face and the sound of his skis on the icy slope. This experience is probably etched in the memory of many children, but only for a few does the simple joy of skiing reach this dizzying level of excitement.
