For the second stop of the Freeride World Tour 2016, the riders have moved on to Chamonix, the Mecca for skiers and alpinists. On the north face of the Aig. Pourrie, they put on an action-packed show.

The first stop of the Freeride World Tour 2016 took place today. This year, the world's freeriding elite met at the start of the tour on the northern flank of the Pic D'Arcalis in Andorra. Rookies who had risen from the qualifiers and experienced World Tour veterans shared the first places.

Now it's over, the Alaska tour stop in Haines that overshadowed everything this FWT season. At first it looked as if the Freeride Word Tour entourage would have to travel on without having achieved anything, having sat out the bad weather and made three futile attempts in vain. But then the tide turned: the competition only took place one day after the official time slot. The question of whether the wait and effort for this unique Freeride World Tour stop was worth it was one that many European freeride fans were able to answer for themselves on 23.03.15 on the live stream at prime time. For all those who didn't have the time or opportunity, here is a recap of the event.

At the FWT stop in Vallnord-Arcalis on February 13, Hazel Josie Birnbaum (USA) and Sam Smoothy (NZL) won in the skiers' category and Estelle Balet (SUI) and Jonathan Charlet (FRA) in the snowboarders' category. Flo Orley (AUT) took second place and leads the snowboarder rankings. It was the third stop of the season for the freeskiers. Eva Walkner (AUT), who finished second today, is qualified for the fourth stage in Alaska as the overall leader. The competitions in the other three categories that were canceled in Fieberbrunn will be made up for later this week in Andorra.

After the contest was moved to the replacement face, there was only enough snow for the women's skiing. The men's and women's snowboard and men's ski competitions had to be postponed to Kappl on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 8:30 am. On the face in Fieberbrunn, which was peppered with pines and stones, many skiers had difficulties last Saturday and in the end the ladies who were able to calculate the risk correctly and finish their run safely came out on top.

For a long time it looked as if the organizers would have to look for a replacement face. But the snowfall of the last few days made the 2nd stop of the FWT in Fieberbrunn possible. After the first points of the 2015 season were awarded in Chamonix, the search for the perfect run continues in the Kitzbühel Alps.

Against the breathtaking backdrop of the Mont Blanc massif, the best freeriders on skis and boards battled it out for the first points of the 2015 FWT season on January 24, 2015. After an exciting competition in challenging snow conditions, a striking number of former overall FWT winners were to be found on the podium at the end.

"ALL WINNERS IN VERBIER ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS" could already be read in the news on the Freeride Worldtour homepage on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday, March 24th, in front of 1000 spectators sizzling in the sun and another 25,000 cheering live via the internet, the top riders were allowed to draw their signatures into the steep north face of the Bec des Rosses. The 16th edition of the Verbier Xtreme and the Freeride World Tour have now come to an end.

Last Wednesday evening, November 16, 2011 at 7:30 pm, the doors of the 8 Seasons Club opened for the premiere of the film "Soultrip Argentina". Shortly before the club doors opened, a large number of winter sports enthusiasts were already standing at the entrance. The Argentinean steaks were already smelling from the grill and the anticipation of a good evening could be seen in the guests' facial expressions. Not only the "Soultrip"movie was on the agenda, but also the premiere of "Path of Roses" with Eva Walkner and Katharina Schuler.
