Marco Tribelhorn

Unlike the films from MSP, TGR and co. discussed here so far, the production company Troublehaus is not backed by a huge media company, but by Swiss multi-talent Marco 'Tribi' Tribelhorn, who produced the film at home with a few buddies. Riding Rhythms has no budget to speak of and no famous professional riders, but is far ahead in terms of likeability and the action (including that of PowderGuide event editor Tobi!) is also quite impressive. We attended the film screening in Innsbruck.

"Waist-deep powder snow in Ticino, winter camping in Disentis, sunset in the Laax snow park or steep descents around the Keschhütte. Long Season, Short Stories tells six short stories about what winter means for freeskiers. In addition to lots of skiing and snowboarding action, the film shows brief insights into the "everyday life" of the four main protagonists. The film was made out of passion for sport and art, without any commercial intentions. With over 80% Swiss music, snow and snow sports enthusiasts, the film is not quite "Swissmade", but certainly more local than Argentinian "Bündnerfleisch"."

The sixth Kick The Vik Eco Freeride Contest took place in the Oberalp region from March 22 to 24, 2013. Skiers and snowboarders made the pilgrimage to Maighelstal to compete against each other in a big mountain freeride competition and to ski good lines together. The ecological concept is the central element here: the riders ascend under their own steam, neither snowmobiles nor helicopters are used. The riders rate each other's runs and the winner is the one who has received the most votes.
