PartnerNews | Valhalla Skis
01/21/2021 • Olav SchmidFrederic Andes and the Valhalla team build high-quality skis by hand, which are manufactured entirely in Freiburg. The shapes are aimed at the freeride touring sector and are correspondingly light, with particular attention paid to a durable construction during production. I took a look at Valhalla and asked Freddi a few questions. I also took a ski with me to test, you can find my impressions after the interview. -

Gear of the Week | PYUA DULL Insulation jacket
01/17/2021 • Lorenzo Rieg
PYUA has stood for sustainable outdoor clothing since it was founded 12 years ago. This is also the case with the "Dull" insulation jacket, which is not only light, warm and packable, but is also made from 100% recycled polyester. This applies to both the filling and the fabric. As the jacket can therefore be completely recycled again, it is a product made for the circular economy. -

Videos of the Week #8 2020/21 | Sustainable VdW
01/08/2021 • Sebastian MüllerInspired by the last column "Snow of Tomorrow", the new mantra is: "Sustainability sells". The VdW and the ski film industry also need to reorient themselves: "Bigger, deeper, steeper" plus "fat beats" times "kerosene" only leads to "head shaking to tired yawns" among the trained public. So here we present a selection of particularly "green, sustainable, environmentally friendly" ski films, or at least that's what we think. -

Twitter memes and feature articles look back with disgust and forward with optimism and cynicism in equal measure, spurred on by the turn of the year, which may only be one night among many, but is nevertheless highly symbolic if you are looking for a reason to leave the past behind. -

Snow of Tomorrow | Circular Economy - More than just recycling
12/14/2020 • Lorenzo RiegThe circular economy has been a major trend in recent years and is sometimes referred to as sustainability 2.0. At first glance, the concept appears to be more technical and more focused on one area. And anyway, most of us have been learning about waste separation and recycling from an early age, especially in Germany, the realm of the can and bottle deposit. -

Snow of tomorrow | Is environmentally friendly skiing still important in times of Corona?
11/16/2020 • Lisa Amenda
Corona caused us to throw a few plans overboard in 2020. The pandemic has dominated everyday life and everything else has suddenly become unimportant. Nevertheless, we ask ourselves the question: why should we continue to ski as environmentally friendly as possible in winter 20/21? -

10/26/2020 • Adrian SauterThe elegant wooden ski from the small Bernese ski manufacturer Earlybird is a revolution in terms of sustainability and design. The 107 mm wide ski is Earlybird's freetouring model and appeals to deep snow fans with a thirst for ascent who appreciate a racy freeride ski even in the deepest backcountry. Not only the look and durability are impressive, the downhill performance with surprisingly low weight make the ski a versatile companion on small and big adventures. -

Snow of Tomorrow | Environmentally friendly ski resorts?
03/09/2020 • Lisa Amenda
Skiing involves clothing, equipment, travel, but above all the ski resort. For all those who want to be as environmentally friendly as possible, but don't want to make the ascent under their own steam, we have gone in search of environmentally friendly ski resorts.
