Snow of Tomorrow | Tearing down the lifts?
02/08/2021 • Lisa Amenda
PG reader Hannes, like probably many of us, wants radical demands and radical solutions - what else could do justice to the huge problem of climate change? More and more drops on increasingly hot stones are not enough. He thinks that the sustainability trend in the outdoor industry in particular also involves a lot of self-deception. -

Snow of Tomorrow | Building in the mountains
01/25/2021 • Adrian Sauter
About 20 years ago, as a young boy, I stood on the Aiguille du Midi in France for the first time with my parents. Without any effort, I climbed to an altitude of 3842m to stand like an astronaut in the face of a rugged, high alpine landscape. Impressed then as I am now, I ask myself whether it is essential for people to be able to reach otherwise almost inaccessible places so easily. -

Snow of Tomorrow | A nature-friendly ski tour
12/16/2019 • Benjamin Stern (ÖAV)
While the number of alpine skiers is stagnating or even declining in some cases, the ski touring market is growing rapidly. 12/09/2019 • Lea Hartl
Mountain glaciers and the seasonal snow cover play an important role in the local and regional water balance. When they change, the hydrological conditions also change - not only in the direct catchment areas, but possibly also far downstream. What exactly does this mean and what are the consequences, apart from "it's bad for the ski resorts" and "it looks stupid"? -

11/17/2017 • Patrick WehowskyThe documentary "Snow of Tomorrow" was produced in 2016 and broadcast for the first time. By chance, I stumbled across a repeat in the 3sat media library yesterday, which can still be seen for a few more days. So if you have 70 minutes to spare at the weekend: it's time well spent, as the documentary offers a panoramic view of winter tourism in the Alpine countries.
