Stephan Harvey

Stephan Harvey, a natural scientist and mountain guide, has been working at the Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research, SLF, in Davos for over 20 years. In addition to publishing several books on avalanche awareness, he is the man behind the well-known avalanche prevention platform, White Risk. In this interview, the avalanche expert talks to us about innovations at White Risk.

The leaflet "Attention Avalanche" is a foldable flyer to take away, which is used during training and can be consulted as a reminder and mental aid in the terrain and when planning tours. The leaflet has been revised and reissued. You can download it free of charge here (print, fold, insert...).

In early summer 2015, the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF hosted an international seminar on avalanche (accidents) and legal issues in Davos.
