With an FWQ 1*, the expectations of the face are not particularly high. Uttendorf-Weisssee is completely different: a complex face with many options, a steep upper section and a challenging orientation in the lower section of the Tauernkogel. A contest in April generally demands good technique from the riders, as the snow conditions vary during the run.

Two Pinzgau freeriders, Sabine Schipflinger and Siobhan Challis, dominated the sunny first edition of the OPEN FACES Freeride Contest in Uttendorf-Weißsee, Salzburg. In the men's ski category, there is currently no way around Tyrolean Stefan Jöchl, while Sabine Schipflinger (AUT) won the women's ski category. First place in the snowboarder category went to Gergo Szkalák from Hungary, while Siobhan Challis (AUT) won the women's competition.

Popular but very rewarding ski tour in the Hohe Tauern National Park, where you are rewarded at the summit with views of the Großglockner and the Großvenediger.
