Videos of the Week #5 2024/25 | Christmas Time in the Mountains

From creative ski projects to epic adventures

by Hannes Hemper 12/19/2024
This edition of Videos of the Week has it all! From a FLINTA Skimix tape to the stylish Keesh crew from Finland to breathtaking ski touring adventures in the polar regions - December delivers everything your heart desires. So many films and many of them definitely a must-see. Ready for the best?

Video 1: Bucket Clips III | A FLINTA Ski Mixtape production. Rosina Friedel edit. Ludwig Hagelstein

A project that is entering its third round. Initiated by Rosina Fiedel and edited by her partner Ludwig Hagelstein. Around 50 different FLINTA* people have contributed to it. Especially the contribution of Bucket Kids and Lotte Harmut with a reggae tune brings a grin to the face. Lots of variety: styles in powder, street clips from Austria and Finland - there's something for every skier's heart.

Video 2: Shy Latte by Cute Café von Alice Michel

A project by Alice Michel and friends.

After their contribution to the bucket clips, the girls present their solo project here - on snowboard and skis. Have fun! :)

Video 3: KEESH 3 von der keesh crew

8 years after the first Keeshlife film and 5 years after the second, the time has finally come: Keesh 3 is here! With the Keesh-OGs and great friends, shot in classic DIY style. The action takes place in Lapland, southern Finland and the French and Swiss Alps. Joonas' style, Antti's tricks or Pontus on the new Salomon Depart 01 - I just can't get enough of it!

Video 4: For the Sake of It von Jacob Callaghan

My favourite filmmaker and creative mind on Season Eqpt Skis! Using old VW buses, his own music and skiing as a form of expression, he creates a true masterpiece. A perfect blend of storytelling and cinematic art.

Video 5: Jesper Tjäder Street Video

The Swedish skier with probably the most precise style! Jesper himself says he felt like he was 16 when he shot the video - and had lots of fun doing it.

Video 6: North of North - Pältsa - Skiing the northernmost mountain of Sweden

This exciting adventure is about Pältsa, the northernmost peak in Sweden. William discovered the peak and told Kajsa about it - despite being 25 weeks pregnant, she set off with him into this unsafe area with hardly any information.

Video 7: 'RANCH' - snowboard film

"Snowboarding is alive and thriving in the mountains of Telluride, Colorado! Join the boys and see how they had a really good time last winter. Logan Petrie, London Albrecht, Harry Kearney and a whole bunch of wild bandits get on their boards and shred through the deep powder and everything in between before riding off into the sunset." Say Less Media House

Video 8: Loved To Death von Orion Herman

A tribute to the beautiful life in small mountain villages and towns in North America, where you grow up with sport as a child. A loving look at the close connection to nature and the passion for winter sports.

Video 9: Freeride film "On top of emotions" | Caucasus | Freeride movie

The film На вершине эмоций (translated: On the Peak of Emotions) comes from Russia. It was produced by Nikita Konov, a Russian cinematographer, and shows freeride action in the Caucasus mountains, particularly around Mount Elbrus.

Video 10: Steep and Scary - THE CROWN JEWEL - Full Movie von Jacob Wester

Jacob Wester, an extremely stylish former park councillor from Sweden, has made a name for himself in the freeride scene in recent years. Following in the footsteps of Nikolai Schirmer's Steel, Jacob has found his own path. Together with Emil Granbom, who rightly received a lot of hype last year, he is now really getting down to business.

Middagsfjellet, an iconic peak overlooking the small village of Nuvsvåg in the remote north of Norway, caught Jacob's attention. But the summit always seemed too far away, too steep, too dangerous. But…

Video 11: The Bunch - Longing for Áhkká

Longing for Áhkká is The Bunch's biggest project to date and goes a step beyond their usual scene. In this award-winning documentary film, Magnus Granér follows in the footsteps of his grandfather on an extraordinary tour.

The story tells of two Arctic expeditions united by their common mission: to climb to the summit of Stortoppen, the highest point of the Áhkká massif in Stora sjöfallet National Park in Sweden. In 1921, Arthur Thelin, Magnus' great-grandfather, fulfilled his lifelong dream when he took part in the first documented expedition to Áhkká and Stortoppen. He recorded his experiences in a diary, and key moments were captured by the legendary photographer Borg Mesch. A century later, in 2021, professional freeskier Magnus Granér embarks on a journey to retrace his great-grandfather's steps - together with his filmmaker friends to honour the centenary of the original expedition.

Video 12: Mickael Deschenaux a.k.a Shiest D

A trip down memory lane - the man with the endless style who got T-Shirt Shiesty skiing. The guy who gave Henrik E-Dollo his name.

Video 13: Old Head New Head #16 Mickael Deschenaux-Comte

Half time in the podcast Old Head New Head with Erik Iberg (Inspired Media) and Ethan. Here you dive deep into the past of park skiing - the golden 2000s and Mickael's life in the ski world.
