Calling this short adventure above the Arctic Circle a “ski camp” doesn’t really do it justice. To me, the term usually conjures up a familiar formula: guided tours led by a mountain guide (usually a guy), a few beers in the evening, and a couple of days of skiing that are often more about covering ground than finding great lines. In this case, avalanche conditions meant there was no way around the flat, less-than-exciting runs, and at times, the skiing itself felt almost secondary. Yet I returned to Innsbruck absolutely stoked — because this trip was about so much more than just skiing. -

Gear of the Week | Haglöfs Vassi GTX Pro II
Inglés • 18/10/2026 • Till Mangesius
The Vassi Hardshell Jacket Pro differs from the standard version in more ways than just its GORE-TEX Pro membrane. It’s also lighter, with a different pocket layout and configuration. But are these upgrades enough to justify the extra €250? -

Gear Review | HEAD STELLA Snowboard
Inglés • 15/10/2026 • Alexandra Zolotykh
The HEAD STELLA is a lightweight and easy-to-ride snowboard for beginners and slightly advanced riders. The True Twin shape and Zero Camber profile make the board easy to control and provide a solid foundation for making your first strides on the slopes, riding switch, and in the park. I tested the STELLA for several weeks in a variety of conditions, from hard and icy slopes to soft spring snow and even some off-piste excursions. The test shows just how versatile this board really is. -

Gear Review | Nidecker Rift Pro Women
Inglés • 07/10/2026 • Alexandra Zolotykh
The Nidecker Rift Pro Women is a lightweight snowboard boot with medium stiffness, a Dual BOA system, and a relatively narrow fit. It offers a secure fit with enough freedom of movement for a variety of on-mountain activities. I tested the boot for about two months on the slopes, in powder, and on splitboard tours. I experienced everything from cold winter days to wet spring slush. This review shows how the Rift Pro performs in terms of comfort, control, and versatility.
